Callie Smith was born September 4, 1991 in Orem, Utah, to her parents, David and Leslie Craig. She grew up playing various sports, but tennis was her favorite. As a junior tennis player, she was ranked No. 1 in Utah for both singles and doubles, top five in the Intermountain, and also ranked nationally with wins over the top 50 players. While at Orem High School, she amassed 4 All-State Championships and received a full-ride scholarship to BYU in 2010, where she played No.1 singles and doubles as a Freshman.  The following year, she transferred to the University of Utah and finished out her tennis career there. While pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports and Science, she met her husband, Kyle Smith, and they were married on December 30, 2014. Soon after, they had two beautiful children.

Pickleball was introduced to Callie in 2018, when her 87 year-old grandfather-in-law asked her to play a local tournament with him. Since then, she has acquired a tremendous passion for the game.  Her background as a tennis player and tennis instructor has allowed her to advance quickly through the professional rankings, and she is currently ranked top 5 nationally, and top 10 globally.

Callie possesses a strong desire to help teach the knowledge, skills, and techniques that she has learned and acquired, and is excited to share her love of pickleball with others seeking to learn and improve their games. She has enjoyed coaching pickleball, and hopes to help others reach their goals and have fun on the court.
